PLATFORM: Switch 2 PLAY TIME: 39h 27m
I already owned Breathedge on PC and enjoyed it, but never had the time to properly dive in. When I saw it on the Switch, I decided to give it another go. Playing on the Switch was much more convenient, I could pick it up and put it down whenever, but the port is a bit glitchy. The worst was my save file corrupting after 11 hours, leaving me stuck below the floor and forcing a full restart.
I must have really been enjoying the game, because losing 11 hours of progress in the past would probably have made me quit entirely. Instead, I put on my big boy pants, speed-ran back to where I was, and finished the game. It was fun overall, though the paranoia of carefully choosing save points to avoid another disaster slightly dulled the experience.

Breathedge is an ironic outer-space survival adventure from developer RedRuins Softworks and publisher HypeTrain Digital, now available on Nintendo Switch. In this quirky survival title you play as an ordinary guy simply trying to transport his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral — only to have events spiral into a bizarre universal conspiracy that throws you off-course into the depths of space.
