Alien: Isolation is a solid game, but the Alien killed me so many times early on that it was hard to enjoy. I don’t have the patience for repeated deaths, so about halfway through I switched to easy mode. I’m incredibly grateful the game lets you change difficulty without restarting, it made the rest of the experience far more enjoyable and far less frustrating. Even on easy, there was still plenty of challenge to keep things tense.

Step into the chilling depths of deep space with Alien: Isolation on Nintendo Switch, a survival horror experience that faithfully brings the tension and dread of Ridley Scott’s iconic Alien universe to life. Fifteen years after the events of the original 1979 film, Amanda Ripley — daughter of legendary protagonist Ellen Ripley — embarks on a desperate mission to uncover the truth behind her mother’s disappearance.
