I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing Quake II on PC, though it’s been so long that I think the last time was on a 386! Despite all that time, I’d mostly stuck to multiplayer and never really played through the campaign. With the multiplayer community likely long gone, it was nice to finally experience the story from start to finish. Unsurprisingly, Quake II is a significant step up from the original Quake, and I really enjoyed playing it all the way through.
Quake II is the classic military sci‑fi first‑person shooter from id Software, now brought to Nintendo Switch as an authentic, enhanced and complete edition of the original 1997 game. Instead of the dark fantasy of the first Quake, this sequel throws you into a gritty interstellar war against the hostile alien race known as the Strogg, blending intense FPS action with a bold science‑fiction narrative.
