I bought SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide for my six-year-old, and it’s definitely not something I would normally pick up for myself. But after finishing Subnautica and really wanting to avoid the familiar process of trawling the store for something new to play (I swear I spend more time looking for games than actually playing them), I decided to give it a go.
Overall, the game was enjoyable, but in places it felt ridiculously complicated for what it is. There were a lot of button sequences to remember, which often meant replaying the same sections over and over just to get past a particular part. That repetition took some of the fun out of it, especially for a game that looks like it should be more straightforward.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is an action-adventure platform game developed by Purple Lamp Studios and published by THQ Nordic.
In the game’s story, a massive clash between the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune has unleashed chaotic ghostly mayhem across Bikini Bottom. Players join SpongeBob and Patrick as they work together to restore normality to their undersea home by combining their unique abilities and skills to overcome obstacles, platforming challenges and boss fights.
