I’m Running Out of Time to Talk Myself Out of Buying the xTool Omni

I’m currently trying to talk myself out of buying an xTool Omni printer, but the countdown on the introductory price is running out and I’m not doing a very good job. I’m sure I could find plenty of uses for it, although I’m also sure I said that about several other machines now gathering dust in my office. Last month I narrowly avoided buying a DJI Osmo Pocket 4 which I don’t need but could use, but probably wouldn’t. I think I might just like shiny new technology.

I could probably make the printer pay for itself fairly quickly if I threw aside my morals and printed any old intellectual property people asked for, which seems to be what plenty of others are doing. I don’t want to do that, though, and once you remove the easy money I’m less certain that I actually need the thing.

The biggest problem is that this one can’t simply gather dust quietly. It needs maintenance cycles, which means every day it isn’t printing would feel like another day it was throwing money down the drain. I don’t think I’m going to buy it. Probably.
