I owe the city an apology.
Last time I said it seemed rather nice.
We visited one of Caleb’s churches to see how their blood donations worked. Piss Boy came with us wearing a gold suit, Baw turned his suit inside out to make it look cleaner, and we did our best to blend in.
It went surprisingly well until the enormous eye above the congregation started glowing.
A strange calm washed over me. People were having frightening amounts of blood taken from them. Some collapsed. Others were bleeding badly, and I thought it was perfectly fine.
Daisy resisted whatever the eye was doing and managed to snap me out of it. Baw took a little more convincing.
Then our old friend the vampire enforcer arrived. You remember him. Nice suit, briefcase, wants to execute us.
He still does.
Things became violent rather quickly.
Piss Boy charged him with a shiv and actually stabbed him before receiving an axe to the side that very nearly killed him.
I tried to blind the vampire. That didn’t work.
I had better luck with the enormous glowing eye. I put a crossbow bolt into it, cracking the thing and freeing a good number of the townspeople from its spell. They looked around, saw the blood, vampires and general carnage, and quite sensibly started running.
Daisy then saved Piss Boy’s life by turning him into a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
I’m not entirely sure that counts as medicine, but it worked.
Within moments, Piss Boy had sent one of Caleb’s clergymen flying across the church with his tail. At that point the vampire decided he’d had enough of fighting fairly, and three vampiric archers appeared above us.
Then a window shattered.
One of the Baron’s people came crashing through it, attacked the archers and shouted “REVOLUTION!”
So I think our quiet investigation of the church is over.
On the bright side, Piss Boy is no longer bleeding to death.
He’s a dinosaur.
Love,
